Greetings to the Members of our Credit Union, GCCU.
As we come to the close of yet another year, it is indeed an honour for me as your Chairman, to bring you season’s greetings. I wish you and your families a joyous but safe Christmas and God’s blessing as we approach 2022.
This year has not been easy for many of us as we have had to deal with this dreaded virus, Covid-19. At times, it felt really daunting and no one could have predicted how this year was going to end, especially following the spike in cases close to the end of the third quarter.
Happily, we appear to have now turned the corner and can now look towards the future with some much anticipated optimism.
From management’s perspective, we have also seen better days but understandably over the past two (2) years, we have had to implement appropriate measures to contain risk in an effort to safeguard your deposits, at the expense of growth and profitability.
For the coming year though, as I am sure you are all preempting, we expect greater normalcy and a much better year.
In 2022, as we approach $100 million in assets, you can expect more from your Credit Union. Already, we have started expansion plans to establish new branches, forming new strategic alliances and our vision to bring you a debit card has been initiated as we strive to continue serving you.
Once again, whether you plan to have a quiet season or participate in all of the fun events, we have come accustom to at this time of year, we encourage you to be safe and observe all covid-19 protocols.
We expect to be interacting with you in the New Year.
Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year.
